Fàilte gu Sanda (welcome to Big Sand)
Caolas Beag Cottage is located in the small settlement of Big Sand, 500 metres from Big Sand Beach and 3 miles from the village of Gairloch in Wester Ross on the North West coast of Scotland. There is a Bar/Restaurant/Cafe and food shop located within easy walking distance of the cottage. As there are no streetlights it is known for being a ‘Dark Skies’ location with incredible star gazing opportunities. The cottage is a 4.5 hours drive north of Edinburgh/Glasgow. Alternatively it can be reached by flying to Inverness Airport then hiring a car and driving the remaining distance through some of Scotland’s most spectacular scenery. This drive will take you approx. 1.5 hours.
